Fairfax County Regional Scholastic Art Awards 2021

2021 Regional Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony

Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 7 p.m.

The Scholastic Art Awards Ceremony for the Fairfax County Art Region, hosted by Fairfax County Public Schools, is an annual event to recognize the secondary visual arts students in the Region who received a Gold Key or Silver Key award for their art submission. Artwork created by the student award winners was selected by a distinguished panel of judges from 2500 submissions to receive these awards. During the ceremony special awards including nearly $6000 in scholarships will be announced, and the Scholastic Art Exhibition Website will be launched.

The Award Ceremony will be both streamed and broadcast. The stream can be viewed worldwide at https://www.fcps.edu/tv/ch99. The broadcast will only be available for those who live in Fairfax County and have a cable provider.

Work Crew

Today was the first day since March 13th that I have seen my colleagues in person! We definitely looked a little different with our face masks, but what a wonderful sight!  Our regional Scholastic Art show was featured in a gallery at the local community college in February. We were lucky enough to have the reception and awards night before the world was put on pause. Our community shut down here on March 13th, leaving the exhibition up until now. We were finally given clearance to take down the show this week, so today we met and happily masked uninstalled the show. I can honestly say, I was thrilled when my alarm sounded off this morning! I miss my fellow art teachers.
