DC Date Night

light show inside the National Cathedral

My sweetie and I spent part of our Valentine's evening at the National Cathedral to check out the Seeing Deeper experience. The ethereal light gliding over the gothic arches, the scale of the vast space undeniable, music gently tickling our ears.

We were instantly part of an entranced crowd, a tapestry of strangers from all walks of life, sharing this collective experience. The shared awe and quiet wonder made for a moment where the grandeur of art and architecture fostered a much needed sense of unity and peace.

Late Night Drive...

This week the National Cathedral projected Black Lives Matter onto its exterior. The projection was created by their designers in partnership with Atmospheric Inc.and will be up until 11:59 tonight.
"The cathedral is proud to say, Black Lives Matter, no exceptions," the cathedral said in a release.
Eddie and I jumped in the car for a completely spontaneous late night/early morning drive to see it. The grounds were so quiet, there were only a handful of people and the night air was comfortable and still. We stayed for a while savoring the message on the peoples house of worship...
grappling with this moment in history and change.
