Old School Becoming New School

This renovation has been much anticipated and I am so excited to document the change that is beginning to ensue!

This was the front of the school, I think it will remain the front when it is all said and done.

So many memories here! Getting ready to morph for new experiences and house new sights and sounds.

The Renwick has D.C. celebrating & learning from Burning Man

BURNING MAN

The Renwick...forward thinking...filling our creative souls...

The Renwick has done it again! It has created a cutting edge visually delicious experience to educate this east coast on rituals found out in the wild west! This participatory experience spills out onto the streets of D.C. as well!

The 10 Principles of Burning Man really resonated with me, as a public school teacher, I strive to accomplish so much of these in my learning environment every day. Creating this space where others and ALL can flourish is paramount. It was an awesome moment to see these principles so eloquently stated. So profound...
   The 10 Principles are:
      1. Radical Inclusion
2. Gifting
3. Decommodification
4.Radical Self-Reliance
5. Radical Self-Expression
6. Communal Effort
7. Civic Responsibilty
8. Leaving No Trace
9. Participation
10. Immediacy

This experience will only stick around until early next year, so put this on your must see list!
